Our Warranty

We Stand Behind What We Build.

Buying a pool is a big investment. You shouldn’t have to wonder what happens if something doesn't work the way it should after we're finished. At Utah Pool Guy, we use high-quality products from manufacturers we trust, and we stand behind the work we do. That means your pool is covered by manufacturer warranties on the products we install, along with our commitment to stand behind our construction and workmanship. But here’s the part we think matters most: We don’t want you to have to fight us to get help. Our goal isn’t to build your pool, collect the final payment, and disappear. We want you to have a great experience before, during, and after your pool is installed.

Utah Pool Guy — New Pool Installation Warranty Policy

At Utah Pool Guy, we don't consider a project finished until you're fully confident in what we built. Every installation is completed by our licensed team (Utah Contractor License B100 #12582455-5501) and backed by a written warranty that puts our commitment on paper, not just a handshake.

Workmanship Warranty:

Utah Pool Guy warrants that your new pool's structural shell, plumbing lines, electrical connections, coping, and decking tie-in are free from defects in workmanship for one (1) year from the date of substantial completion (the date you sign off at final walkthrough). If a covered defect shows up during this period, we repair or, at our discretion, replace the affected component, at no cost to you for parts or labor tied to that defect.

Equipment & Manufacturer Warranties:

Pumps, filters, heaters, salt systems, automatic covers, liners, and other manufactured equipment we install carry their own manufacturer's warranty, typically 1 to 3 years depending on the part. Utah Pool Guy manages this coverage for you: if a covered component fails, we handle the manufacturer claim on your behalf instead of leaving you to deal with it directly.

Caring for Your New Pool:

To keep your warranty valid, we ask that you:

  • Maintain proper water chemistry (we're happy to recommend a schedule or a local service).
  • Follow the winterization and start-up steps we walk you through at handoff.
  • Have any repairs, modifications, or added equipment done by Utah Pool Guy or a technician we authorize.
  • Tell us about a potential issue as soon as you notice it, rather than waiting.

Requesting Warranty Service:

  • Call (801) 822-1463 or email PERMITS@UTAHOOLGUY.COM with your name, address, and a description of the issue (photos help).
  • We schedule an inspection, typically within 5 business days.
  • If it's covered, we confirm the repair plan and timeline with you in writing before starting. If it's not covered, we tell you why and give you an honest estimate for the repair anyway.

Legal Notice: Utah Pool Guy is a licensed contractor in the State of Utah (Contractor License B100 #12582455-5501), 4651 North Digital Drive, Lehi, Utah 84043. This written warranty states what Utah Pool Guy commits to repair at its own cost, and for how long. It does not replace or limit any other rights you may have under Utah law, including protections against defective construction that can extend well beyond this warranty's one-year term.

Latham Fiberglass Pool Shell - Limited Lifetime Warranty

We chose Latham Pools because we believe quality matters—and because their warranty reflects the confidence they have in their fiberglass shells.

Latham’s current fiberglass warranty provides limited lifetime coverage for the original residential purchaser against qualifying structural failure caused by defects in the manufacturer's workmanship or materials. Latham also provides limited lifetime coverage against qualifying osmotic blistering of the gelcoat surface. Latham-installed tile is covered for three years from the date Latham ships the pool.

In simple terms:

  • The shell’s structure: Limited lifetime coverage for qualifying structural failure.
  • The gelcoat surface: Limited lifetime coverage against qualifying osmotic blistering.
  • Latham-installed tile: 3-year warranty against qualifying transportation damage and workmanship in the tile application.

Why this matters to us: A warranty is only as good as the company standing behind the installation. That’s why we take the installation process seriously. We’re not just putting a Latham pool in the ground. We're responsible for installing it correctly.

Pentair Pool Equipment - Manufacturer Warranty

We use Pentair equipment because we want the systems operating your pool to be dependable, efficient, and supported by a major manufacturer. Pentair provides at least a 1-year parts-and-labor warranty on qualifying products, with many products receiving longer coverage.

Bundled Extended Warranty (Up to 3 Years):

If you buy and concurrently install a qualifying bundle (a minimum of a pump and filter, plus another major item like a heater or salt system) through a qualified professional on the same invoice, Pentair may extend parts and labor coverage up to 3 years if registered within 60 days.

Product Coverage Examples:

  • Pentair IntelliFlo3 VSF pumps: 3 years
  • Pentair filters: 2 years
  • Pentair MasterTemp / Max-E-Therm heaters: 2 years
  • Pentair ETi high-efficiency heaters: 3 years
  • Pentair UltraTemp heat pumps & automation: 1 to 3 years depending on model

Product Registration & Links:

You can register your equipment online via the PENTAIR PRODUCT REGISTRATION PAGE using your original store receipt and professional installation invoice. You can also view the official PENTAIR WARRANTY REGISTRATION CARD (PDF).

Mizu Automatic Safety Cover Warranty

We use Mizu for automatic safety covers because the cover is an essential part of your pool's safety, cleanliness, and operation. Mizu pool cover warranties vary depending on the specific product type (distributed through manufacturers like Coverstar):

Standard Warranty Breakdown:

  • Parts Warranty: 30 days
  • Labor Warranty: 1 year
  • Automatic Cover Fabric: 7-year limited warranty (covering heat-sealed webbing)
  • PowerFlex™ Rope: 2-year break warranty

  • Mesh Safety Covers: Up to a 25-year warranty with 5 years of full coverage and 20 years of prorated coverage

Not Covered / Exclusions:

  • Rips and certain labor costs.

  • Cosmetic fading or weathering is generally not covered unless it causes the cover to fail safety standards.

What a Warranty Doesn’t Cover

A warranty isn’t a promise that nothing will ever go wrong. Complex systems can be affected by external factors beyond our control, including:

  • Normal wear, fading, or staining from water chemistry
  • Improper water balance, maintenance, or neglect
  • Freeze damage (unwinterized or done by third parties)
  • Ground movement, soil conditions, or hydrostatic pressure
  • Acts of nature (earthquakes, floods, extreme weather)
  • Unauthorized repairs, alterations, or added equipment
  • Cosmetic items accepted at final walkthrough
  • Cover rips or labor outside standard terms

These exclusions vary by product. The actual manufacturer warranty and your signed contract control.
